b'Lane CoveIn FocusLane Cove Council Community Newsletter July 2021Vision for Golf Course siteThe golf course is the largest open space in the Lane Cove area, making the decision about its future use an important one. Councils first ever Community Panel met throughout June to consider "What is the best use of the outdoor areas on the golf course site to meet our community needs now and in the future?". This remit followed on from community consultation in 2020 where Council had suggested putt-putt and a driving range be added to the site to help improve the sustainability of golf. The feedback from the consultation was to consider all future options for this open space. The Community Panel was made up of a random selection of more than 30 people who broadly represent the demographics of the Lane Cove area. Together they developed and the majority supported the following vision."Lane Cove Golf Course provides an accessible, sustainable golf and greenspace for the current and evolving community to enjoy for generations to come"As part of the process of developing the vision the Panel toured the golf course site, were given access to a range of information and guest speakers and guided through the process by independent facilitators MosaicLab and Gauge Consulting. Whats Happening Near YouFollowing their last meeting on Saturday 26 June, the Panel provided a report to Council with their vision and criteria for the future use of thein 2021/22 site.
