The Mayor welcomed the inspection committee outside 89A Centennial Avenue and requested the Director – Major Projects to identify the drainage infrastructure and location of the drainage reserve between Centennial Ave and Hallam Ave. The inspection committee then proceeded to 26A Garling Street.
In respect of these drainage reserves the Committee formed the view that recommendations to Inspection Committee Meeting were appropriate as the reserves were not providing a public benefit provided Council’s infrastructure was protected by appropriate easements should the land be sold in the future.
The Committee then inspected the public reserve off the end of Fleming Street (west of 29A) (Lot 9 DP 253441).
The Committee noted that this reserve was to the south of the walking track along the closed section of Fleming Street and had a narrow boundary to the closed section of Fleming Street.
In respect of this public reserve the Committee formed the view that recommendations to Inspection Committee Meeting were appropriate as the reserve was not providing a public benefit and should the land be sold in the future, any trees within the reserve would be protected under the existing tree protection regime for the LGA.
