ITEM 1:          SITE INSPECTION OF WOODFORD BAY

SUBJECT:     INSPECTION OF PROPOSED DINGHY RACK (8:30AM)

The Committee was addressed by the Manager - Open Space who detailed Council’s state responsibility to ensure the intertidal zone is dinghy free.

The Committee noted the address and that the matter would be the subject of a report at the appropriate time.

 

ITEM 2:           Environmental Services Division Report No. 3

SUBJECT:     21 Dunois Street, Longueville (9:00AM)

 

Councillors met on site and the Mayor welcomed all present before calling for an overview of the development proposal to amend existing conditions of consent restricting the trafficable area of a dwelling with views to the Sydney Harbour and Bridge.

Councillors also heard from the owners and neighbours before viewing the terrace area.

Councillors noted the staff recommendation.

            “A.       Amend condition 1 as follows:

·           The trafficable and useable recreational terrace area on the roof is to be restricted to the area behind the stainless steel balustrade that is to be located 4m from the northern side and 2m from the eastern side of the dwelling external parapet walls that is consistent with the original development approval.

·           The Drawing number DA01 as submitted with the section 96 modification application be amended to indicate a 4m set back to the northern side and also to include a planter box installation that has a minimum width of 600mm and is to be located adjoining the inside section of the northern balustrade. The planter box to be provided with plantings that attain a height of 1.5m to be used as screen and ensuring privacy can be maintained to the properties on northern side of 21 Dunois Street.

·           The amended drawings to be submitted to the Council prior to the installation of the new stainless steel balustrade.

              B.      Delete condition 48.

“The shade sails be maintained at all times over the non trafficable areas to prevent access.””

Councillors also requested a draft condition be prepared for consideration by Council that seeks to set back the balustrade on the northern side by 3.5 metres to accommodate existing fixtures, remove the need for a planter box and the shade sails with the remainder to reflect the original condition of the 2003 consent.

The following draft condition is provided for Councillors’ consideration.

              “A.     Amend condition 1 as follows:

·           The trafficable and useable recreational terrace on the roof is to be restricted to the area behind the stainless steel balustrade that is to be located 3.5m measured from the outside edge of the northern side and 2.0m measured from the inside edge of the eastern side dwelling external parapet walls.

·           The drawing number DA01 as submitted with the Sec.96 Modification application be amended as indicated above.

·           The amended drawings to be submitted to the Council prior to the installation of new stainless balustrade.

              B.      Delete condition 48.

                        “The shade sails be maintained at all times over the non trafficable roof areas to prevent access.””
