Item 1: Environmental Services Division Report No.135
Subject: 9A Gamma Road, Lane Cove
The Mayor welcomed all attending and called for an overview of the proposal to construct a 1-2 story dwelling house on the battleaxe lot at 9A Gamma Road. Councillors heard from adjoining neighbours who highlighted concerns including increased bulk and scale at the western and southern boundaries, privacy concerns at the eastern boundary and request for the applicant to consider altering the roofline and increasing excavation for that section above the garage to improve external impacts of adjoining neighbours.
Councillors visited a number of adjoining sites to ascertain the impact concerns of affected neighbours. The owners, builder and planner answered questions from neighbours and councillors.
Item 2: Environmental Services Division Report No.285
Subject: 19 Glenview Street, Greenwich
The Mayor acknowledged the site was a construction zone and conducted the initial inspection on the kerb of 19 Glenview Street.
The Executive Manager - Environmental Services advised that the proposed works
formed an amending application (Section 96 application) to a development
considered and approved by the Land and Environment Court of NSW.
Councillors heard from the owners’ planner who detailed the proposed additions and amendments to the original approval which includes, inter alia, installation of a lift, relocating and increasing stormwater detention tanks, reinstatement of external stairs and reconfiguration of internal layouts.
Councillors heard from adjoining neighbours to the north and west who expressed concerns of privacy and appropriateness of proposed building materials. The Executive Manager - Environmental Services was asked to clarify details relating to the Court Decision and the necessity for reinstatement of external stairs prior to the meeting of Council on the 7 November.
Item 3: Environmental Services Division Report No.278
Subject: 456 Pacific Highway, St. Leonards
Available Councillors viewed the site of the proposed sign and noted the surrounding amenity.
