Subject:†††††††††† 10, 12, & 12A Poole Street, Longueville

 

Councillors met at the entrance to the site and heard an overview of the development proposal by Mr. Mason.Councillors also heard from heritage architect, Mr. Robert Moore who advised how/why heritage item 13153 was placed on the Lane Cove LEP.

 

An owner, Mrs. D. Lowes, was present along with the architect applicant Mr. James Grose and other representatives.

 

Mrs. Lowes invited councillors and interested individuals on site to gain an understanding of the development proposal.

 

Councillors walked the site and heard from a number of concerned residents and adjoining neighbours.Councillors also viewed the interior of the heritage building located toward the water frontage of the site and heard from Mrs. Lowes who advised that notwithstanding the appeal of the structure it was not practical from a space allocation perspective or for the functioning of a modern family.Mrs. Lowes and her representative answered questions from councillors and individuals.

 

Councillors viewed a number of adjoining sites to gain insight to issues raised by objectors during the notification period.

 

Councillor Freedman called for background information regarding the heritage item to be provided for the subsequent Council meeting on the 3rd September.

 

At the conclusion of the site inspection the Mayor (Clr. Longbottom) thanked all present for their view and attendance and advised that Council would formally consider the development proposal at its meeting of the 3rd September.

 

 

 

 

 

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

That the report be received, noted and the development proposal be determined.
